Avoid spam problems with a custom link

Adding an unsubscribe link to your email campaigns is essential for maintaining a healthy subscriber list and complying with legal requirements. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to create a custom unsubscribe link in your campaign templates.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you know how to use the tinyEmail editor and customize a campaign template.


Getting started:

  1. Open your campaign template: In the email editor, navigate to the template you want to modify.
  2. Insert the unsubscribe module:
    • Click on the "Content" tab in the left sidebar.
    • Select "Modules" and then "Prebuilt Modules."
    • Search for "unsubscribe" and drag the desired module into your template.



Customization:

  • Placement: Choose a suitable location for the unsubscribe link, such as at the top of the email or bottom of the email.
  • Design: Customize the appearance of the unsubscribe module to match your email's design.
  • Language: Use clear and concise language that informs subscribers of their option to unsubscribe.

You can save your designed Unsubsribe link module as new module to use in future. (See below gif)
Steps:
1. Click on Unsubscribe link and click on Save icon.
2. In left sidebar panel name the module and click on sav




Testing the link

Go to the top of the editor and click the Send test link.

Enter a test email in the popup window.

click the send test email button

Open the message in the test email account and click the Unsubscribe link. A new browser tab opens with the Unsubscribe button.

Now you know how to add a custom Unsubscribe link to a campaign template.


If you do not add an unsubscribe link to your campaign template, our system will automatically generate one and add it to the footer of the email. This ensures that all your campaigns comply with legal requirements.

Technical Note:

If you update the unsubscribe module, be sure to verify that the href value of the link equals [UNSUBSCRIBE_LINK]. This ensures that the link functions correctly and directs subscribers to the appropriate unsubscribe page.
