Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

To strengthen the security of your account, tinyEmail supports Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This additional layer of protection helps ensure that only you can access your account - even if your password is compromised.

Setting up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is quick and highly recommended. This article will walk you through how to enable it and what to expect during the login process.

How 2FA Works

When 2FA is enabled, you’ll be required to enter a verification code sent to your registered email address in addition to your password when logging in.

Important:  Enabling 2FA under My Account > Security will activate it globally for all users on the account.

Supported Authentication Methods:

  1. Email Verification: A 6-digit code is sent to your registered email address at login.

  2. Login via Google (Admin Users)
If you are logging in as an Admin via your Google account, please ensure that 2-Factor Authentication is enabled on your Google account to maintain account security.

  3. Login via Shopify (Admin Users)
If you are logging in as an Admin via your Shopify account, please make sure that 2-Factor Authentication  is enabled on your Shopify account for enhanced security.

How to Activate Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  1. Log in to your tinyEmail account.
  2. Navigate to "My Account" from the top-right corner.
  3. Go to the "Security" tab.
  4. Find the "Two-Factor Authentication" option and toggle it ON.
  5. Enter your account password to confirm the change.

  6. Enter your account password to confirm the change.
  7. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is now enabled on your account

  8. Log out and log back in to the platform.
  9. On your next login, you’ll receive a verification code via email.
  10. Enter the verification code to complete the login and access your account.

  11. All done! Two-Factor Authentication is now active on your account.

Once Two-Factor Authentication is enabled, all users on the account will be required to enter a verification code sent to their registered email address each time they log in. This provides an added layer of security to help protect your account from unauthorized access.

To ensure smooth access, we recommend keeping your email account secure, as it is essential to the verification process.
